Feature Story: Project Progress
BOOK PROGRESS
The book has been stalled out lately because I’ve been stuck on a scene. I want to add more conflict with the characters at the beginning so that the journey to friends feels more earned. It’s also an opportunity to showcase the character’s flaws and have them be a detriment to their goals. But I have struggled to find the right setting to put them in to showcase all of that. However, in my plan for the coming month, I have 2 weeks set aside to focus purely on the book, and I am confident that I will get it all figured out!
I’m so close to being done, I can taste the victory!
I have also hired a cover artist! Yay! The work should be completed by the end of March, so I’m hoping for a publication time of April! Mark your calendars!
 Looking Back: Last month, I set myself the challenge to upload a video every day for 12 days in a row, for my Vlogmas series. I have never done a project quite like this, and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get all the videos done on time. Some of them were pretty close, and definitely, I had a few last-minute concept changes for videos, but overall, I’m happy with how they turned out, and I’m very proud that I succeeded in my challenge and was able to post consistently! (For me, this is a huge win!) |  Looking Forward: I’m coming up quickly on my 200th day on YouTube, and looking forward to taking stock of how I’ve done since my last check-in video! |

A Pottery Word History That Surprised Me
Did you know, the definitions for the words throw and warp used to be switched? Warp (weorpan) used to mean to propel something, and throw (Throuen) used to mean to twist, turn, write, or curl. This is why we still say we are “throwing pots on the wheel”. It’s not about referring to how hard you slam the clay on the wheel, but it refers to the actual act of shaping the clay.
So, That’s all for the January Newsletter. I’m still learning how to put these together, and it’s currently 7:02 in the morning, and I haven’t slept yet… so I need to get that done.
